24 May all birders arrived at Chengdu airport then we jump into the bus and drive to Wenjun Hotel located at Qintai ancient street and just 3 minutes walk to Baihua Tan park where we saw some can not be missed city birds.

25 May we had a one day drive from eastern road to Jiuzhaigou and check in Grand Hotel which is a 4 stars.

26-27 May we spent two full days inside the park and got the Robin and I make some nice record and had the first picture of this difficult bird.

28 May excellent day at Gong Gang Lin forest, I will never forget the male Chinese Monal walking around and then coming the female. Nice view and nice pictures.

29-31 May we spent the time at Baxi Forest at Roige and easy to get the Blue Eared Pheasant and Black Necked Crane, then drive to Maerkang and en route got the White Browed Tit

1-2 June we spent two full day at Mengbi Shan forest and saw all target birds

3 June today is exciting as after talked to the key policeman at Wolong, we success to bring our bus drive into Wolong area.

4 June we got the permits and of course paid a ot of money then we walk up to Wuyipneg station, spend one night at there and managed a very good view of Firethroat, Temminck’s Tragopan and Kolass Pheasant

5 June in heavy raining, we walked down to Wolong

6-7 June Two full days at Balang Shan and saw all important birds include: Chinese Monal, Snow Partridge, Tibetan Snowcock, White Eared Pheasant,Blood Pheasant and Grandala and all other snow finches, 5 species of Roasfinches, 2 accentors etc.

8 June easily drive to Wawu from Wolong

9-11 June enough time at Wawu and good view of Red Panda and almost all Parrotbills, the get back to Chengdu. One big party at Travellers’ Bar

12 June fly off of the participants and Rob from Birdtour Asia join James at Chengdu.

They two fly to Tibet on 13 June for the Parakeet tour ends at 18 June.
