 Mr. Tang Jun, owner and founder of China Bird Tour,worked in the travel industry since 1993 and his first experience on birding was from 1999 when the focus of his work gradually inclined to birdwatching tourism. Till now his yearly travelling covers all popular birdwatching places within China.
Now he lives in Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan province and managing all tours of China Bird Tour.His more than 20 years experience of the field plus skillful & stunning handing of the ground arrangements has made many fruitful tours.
What follows is a brief resume of Tang Jun's guiding work and other experience:
- 1993/1995 Living in Lhasa,Tibet as local culture tour guide; Travelled almost everywhere of Tibet; Two trips to the north of Tibet seek for the wildlifes;1996 Lead the first ever expedition by UK driven trucks, traveling from Islamabad to Hong Kong via South Taklamakan desert; Traveling from Kathmandu to Beijing via Tibet; Traveling from Islamabad to Beijing along the silk road; Lead the culture tour groups traveling from Beijing/Xi'an/Shanghai/Guilin etc.
- 1997/1999 Start own tourism business in Tibet;
- 1999 Guided the first birding trip at Tibet organized by Birdquest Facilitator and interpreter on Beijing to Paris Vintage Car Rally from Beijing to Kathmandu via Tibet in 1997;
- 2000/2001 Founded China Tibet Himalayas Travel Co.Ltd in Tibet; Facilitator and interpreter (English) for the Around the World in 80 Days Classic Car Rally (Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan,Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kirghizstan, China) from Islamabad to Peking in 2000.Guided the first birding trip organized by Hong Kong Birding Society (HKBS) 25 days to the remote area of western Tibet;
- 2003 Start guiding & leading birding tours to Beidaihe,Qinling NR area,Qinghai and Tibet high plateau.
- Since 2004,the focus of our work gradually inclined to birdwatching tourism.
