2012 25th March to 1st April Sichuan and Shanxi province

25 March to 1 April 4 Thai Birders guided by Tang Jun

25 March After arrival at Chengdu from Bangkok noon time then we dirve directly to Wolong, the section 50km between Yinxiu and Wolong still under traffic control and no entry for other vehicles except the local ones. Based on good relationship with local and we successfuly pass through the check point and arrive at Wolong

26 March we started very early 4.30am and due to diffcult walking condition up to Wuyipeng, till 7.45am we were there and tried to look for Tragopan but not successed. The former Wuyipeng Researching Station was put down and a new one understand construction and looks can be finished late 2012. We spent most of the day at the area and down to Wolong for overnight

27 March we drive up to Balangshan and had an excellent day include Chinese Monal, TIbetan Snowcock, Snow Partridge, Grandala etc.

28 March we did Balangshan again due to not allow driving further west into Tibet area, so we come back to Wolong for another night stay.

29 March one excellent morning and we managed to see the Tragopan and Golden Pheasant near Wolong before we drive north to Jiuzhaigou NR.We overnight at Chuan Zhu Si where is high plateau already.

30 March we planned birding at Gonggangling and because of very heavy snow,we have to give up. We then drive further toward out next destination: Crested Ibis. Long distance drive and we overnight about 4 hours driving before Ibis spot. We stoped en route and good view of Three-banned Rosefinch

31 March we drive directly to Yangxian where we met by local NR guy with permission and we managed see 4 Ibis breeding by the river side then we start drive toward Chengdu and overnight at Mianyang City.

Yangxian to Chengdu total about 580km.

1 April Drive to Chengdu airport and flights departure at 15.00pm.
